Water Refill Station Information

What is it?
The Water Refill Station allows users to refill water bottles, eliminating the need to buy single use plastic bottles. It is available for hire for local community and private events. When it is not hired out, it is set up on the verandah of the Boyup Brook CRC, providing free filtered water for all.

The unit simply connects to a tap, and has a sensor on the side making it a hygienic contact free system.

The Water Refill Station was purchased in late 2020 as a part of a Community Litter Grant made available through the Keep Australia Beautiful Council WA.

Why Hire it?
At a Boyup Brook Community Clean up, single use plastic water bottles were one of the most found items at the recreation grounds. These plastic bottles would not biodegrade, instead they would have broken down into microplastics harming the Blackwood River and the surrounding environment.

Australia is very lucky to have drinkable water straight from the tap. With the Water Refill Station, all you need to do is remember to pack your water bottle!

What is the Cost?
The Water Refill Station is available for hire for a small fee of $25 per day and a $50 bond. The bond is reimbursed after the event, when the unit is returned in the same condition it was hired out.

How to Hire it?
Call 9765 1169 or email [email protected] to check the units availability for your event.

More on the Unit
The Water Refill Station is a product of meetPAT. On their website they state:
‘Our products encourage people to drink more water (less sugary drinks!), look after the environment and waterways, as well as reduce single use water bottle waste.
Why the name PAT?
PAT is tap backwards. We want people to “meet” the tap. Rediscovering and embracing public water, water stations and drinking fountains as we used to.’
